You can also use Windows Media Player to do a reverse sync, i.e. sync music from the iPod to your music library.

Note   Windows Media Player does only allow reverse synching certain music formats, such as MP3 or WMA. iTunes music stored in AAC or MP4 is not supported. This is a limitation of Windows Media Player; click the WebHelp button of the error message dialog for details.

Sync music to Windows Media Player

  1. Start the Windows Media Player, connect your iPod to your computer, and then click the Sync tab to open the Sync pane.
  2. From the tree-view to the left, click the iPod icon, choose a view, such as Songs, Album, or Playlists, and drag one or more songs to the Sync List pane to add them to the list of items to sync.
  3. To remove items from the sync list, click the item in the Sync List pane, and then click Remove from List.
  4. Click Start Sync to sync the contents of the sync list to Windows Media Player.
