I get an error when I sync video files
If you attempt to sync video files, and an error occurs during the sync process, the Sync Results list in Windows Media Player displays the status Error for all files that could not be synced. If you receive an error in the Sync Results list, please read the notes below:
You video is not stored in the MPEG-4 file format
An Apple iPod can only play video files that are encoded using the MPEG-4 file format. These videos have the extension MP4 or M4V. If you attempt to sync a video that is stored using a different format, such as AVI or MPG, MGTEK dopisp will reject the file, and you receive an error in the Sync Results List. To avoid this problem, convert your video to an iPod compliant video format. The conversion can be done using third party conversion tools. See the iPod Technical Specifications for a list of video types that your iPod supports.
You have an old version of MGTEK dopisp installed that did not support synching video
Synching videos is supported since version V2.0.0538. If you have an older version installed, uninstall the old version using the Windows Control Panel and download and install the latest version of MGTEK dopisp from the MGTEK dopisp homepage. To determine the version of the software you have currently installed, see Determine the Version of MGTEK dopisp. After you have installed the latest version, please perform the steps below to update the new device capabilities.
You had a previous version of MGTEK dopisp installed
If you previously installed a version of MGTEK dopisp that did not support synching videos, you need to force Windows Media Player to query your iPod again for the new device capabilities. - Unplug your iPod from your computer.
- In Windows Media Player 11, click the Library tab twice, to open the pull-down menu.
- In the pull-down menu, click More Options.
- On the Privacy tab, click Clear Caches.
- Close Windows Media Player.
