A topic starts with a topic heading whose paragraph style is mapped to a TOPIC. To remove a topic from the table of contents, change the style of the topic heading to a style that is not mapped to a TOPIC. To remove a topic entirely, you can simply delete the topic paragraphs from the Word document.

Change the style of a topic heading

  1. Click inside the topic heading paragraph you want to remove from the table of contents.
  2. Do one of the following to apply the paragraph style Text:

    Use keyboard shortcuts (recommended)

    1. Press CTRL+SHIFT+N to apply the style Text.

    Use the Help Producer toolbar

    1. On the Help Producer Formatting toolbar, click Text StyleDescription: Text Style.
