Due to different requirements for displaying documents, the HTML standard does not provide for certain text or image formatting options, which may be found in Microsoft Word. For instance, HTML does not support double-underlined text. If a formatting option is used in a Microsoft Word document that cannot be represented in HTML, Help Producer will automatically choose a HTML formatting option that will closely match the original one. For instance, double-underlined text in Microsoft Word will be converted to a single-underline in HTML.

Below, you can find some of the limitations of HTML:

Underlines

HTML does only support a single-line underline styles. Other underline styles available in Microsoft Word, such as double-underline, cannot be represented in HTML.

Underline color

In HTML, it is not possible to specify the color of an underline. Usually, the color of the underline is the same as text, however, depending on the web-browser, the underline color will be simply ‘black’.
